General Conference Delegates Celebrate The United Methodist Building's 100th Anniversary
100 years of social witness on Capitol Hill
Today, John Hill, GBCS Interim Secretary addressed the delegates at General Conference to celebrate the 100 years of the United Methodist Building (UMB).
“Every day I have the privilege of walking into our offices at The United Methodist Building in Washington DC and am awestruck at the wisdom of our Methodist forebearers who positioned this sacred place directly across from the US Capitol,” said Hill. “It is a place set apart for work, worship and witness to the redeeming power and promise of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
