While the United States makes up only 5% of the world's population, the U.S. criminal justice system makes up a staggering 25% of the world's incarcerated population. Just think of how many communities this system has devastated; how many families have been broken apart by harsh long-term prison sentences; how little healing to victims of crime this has brought; and how much money and resources have been used. It is mind boggling.

Your church or Wesley Foundation can sign on to a list of principles that advocate for postive and needed criminal justice reforms that begin to reduce mass incarceration and also save money.
