'Equipped for Every Good Work'
Cal-Nevada seminar on immigration issues
OAKLAND, Calif. — The California-Nevada Immigration Task Force will education trainers on how to lead immigration reform seminars throughout the conference. The event, “Equipped for Every Good Work: Training for the Trainer,” will be Saturday, May 2, at Laurel United Methodist Church, 33525 Kansas St., here.
Participants will be instructed on how to be a lead trainer or part of a team of trainers that can serve as resources for district, local church and ethnic caucuses. Subjects to be covered include:
“Know Your Rights,” what to do in a raid, and how to make a family and individual plans in case of an immigration raid.
Advocacy: How to be a faithful ally.
The Basics: Essentials of the immigration reform situation.
The training will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
