On February 15, 2007, U.S. Senators Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and John Cornyn, R-Texas, and U.S. Representatives Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Tom Davis, R-Va., introduced bipartisan bills in the United States House and Senate to grant the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authority to regulate tobacco products.
